Meet Sunflower Snapshots!

About Me!

Hello everyone! My name is Destiny Carter. I am 18 years old and the owner of Sunflower Snapshots. I have always been into photography since I was a young kid. When I was about five years old, I wanted a camera for Christmas, but when I was around that age, I would play with one toy for two seconds and never touch it again. When I was around 14 years old, I started taking pictures of my best friend Beverly! We started taking pictures for fun for her Instagram, and that's when I realized that photography is my passion. I asked my parents for a camera later that year for Christmas, and then they got me my first-ever camera! I was so excited that I started taking pictures of random things; after that, I realized I loved taking portraits of people! I started taking clients in 8th grade and have been taking photos since then! I love photography with all my heart and love capturing memories for my clients, and I hope to see you at a photoshoot!

I interpret this image as how society is silencing us–women. In society today, every time women have an opinion, it gets ignored, shamed, and talked down upon. The hand in the image is shutting the woman's mouth not to speak. In today's time, you would think this wouldn't be a thing, but it has only gotten worse with the internet. I believe we women need to speak up to defend ourselves.
